About Bill
A lifetime of Northern Michigan, told one story at a time.
Bill has spent a lifetime under Michigan pines — at deer camps that smell like woodsmoke and coffee, on lakes wrapped in morning fog, and in small towns where everybody notices when something isn’t right.
His writing lives in that world. Three series, three different moods: the warmth and humor of deer camp with family and friends, the wide-eyed disasters of the Bad Idea crew, and the quieter unease of a small-town mystery seen through a wildlife photographer’s lens.
Every book is written for the reader who’s felt cold hands on a Thermos, laughed at the wrong end of a canoe, or watched a stranger’s headlights pass a little too slowly.
